We have multiple computers running QB 2010 Pro (Win XP pro, Windows 7 & Windows XP Home). Ok so many of you are having a problem where during multi-user installs if a network computer logs in BEFORE the Admin/Main, they log in under "Single User" mode and thus noone else can log in.

Make sure the Admin account in QB specifies that it's currently in multi user mode and that each computer that USES that same QB file is also in multi user mode upon startup, you should only have the MAX number of people in that your license allows or QB likes to just blow up. If you install it as a database/server then you can make sure it finds the proper folder. Do a clean install of the host that serves the QB file to the users and make sure that the QB file is located on that same host and that (QB itself) can find it. I actually have changed where the QB company file is being hosted so I ALWAYS KNOW that a connection to that host is good, IE on a file server compared to running it on some random desktop PC.Ģ. (Optional Observation) If you happen to be running multiple QB company files on a single workstation I found that both cannot be opened in Multi-user mode. It's possible that they have it defaulted to single user.ģ. At the end there is an option to "Open file in multi-user mode". Go to the users that are opening the Quickbooks file and delete it from their recently accessed list. If possible, put this on a server, not a workstationĢ.

Make sure the server/computer that the file is hosted on has the QB database manager running. I've hit my head over a wall a few times in regards to multi-user mode.
